Aston Martin DB4 Series I

The Aston Martin DB4 was revealed to the public in September 1958 at the Paris Motor Show, The DB4 was the first car to be complete made at the new factory at Newport Pagnell that would continue to be the home of Aston Martin for more than a half a decade.

Production of the DB4 ran from late 1958 to June 1963 and within this time there were a number of derivatives and series, although according to Aston Martin, there was only ever a DB4 and DB4 GT model officially produced. A five-series system for identify DB4s is generally applied today, even if it is always worth remembering that the hand-built cars often came with subtle differences even within the same series.

Series 1 and 2 cars came with ‘cathedral’ rear lighting, as opposed to the individual triple lights of the later series, with a key styling change being the introduction of the ‘bar’ style front grille for series 4 and 5. Even with such variation only 1110 DB4s were produced in the 5 years of production, including just 70 convertible examples.

The car we are offering is a stunning Series 1 DB4, of which there were only 150 produced in total, this being an incredibly rare original left-hand drive example. Delivered new to Washington USA in 1960 with Sea Green Paint with Off White interior.

The Vehicle is now in a Superb California Sage with an Olive Green interior
